    What is Facebook?

    If you have ever heard anyone talk about a social networking website, then Facebook may be one of the websites that they were referring to. In today’s post we will discuss common Facebook questions by looking at the many features that Facebook has available for you to use to grow your business.

    We’ll look at the features such as the profile, joining causes, advertising, updating your status, creating a group and more.

    Facebook is a social networking website that was founded by Mark Zuckerburg in February 2004. The Facebook website was first created for the students of Harvard University and then expanded months later to other ivy league universities.

    Eventually, the website became open to high school students and after that, Facebook was open to anyone with a valid email address who was of the age thirteen and older.

    Are you ready for Facebook Timelines?

    As of March 30, 2012 all Facebook business pages will be in the timeline format. Are you ready for the transition with Facebook Timelines?

    I am proud to say that I am ready. My Facebook page is set up for the timeline format and all my customers who I manage social media as a virtual assistant for have been transferred to the timeline format.

    Understand Facebook Timelines

    Here are some Facebook business tools that you need to meet the new format:

    1. Have a cover photo at the top of the page that is 851 pixels wide by 315 pixels height.
    2. Have a picture at the top of your page that is 180 pixels wide.
    3. For each of your tab pages have an image that describes the tab that is 111 pixels wide by 74 pixels wide.
    4. Arrange the order of your tabs.
    5. Take an orientation around your page to understand the new layout and see how your posts appear.
    6. Make sure to read Facebook’s Page Guidelines. You will see important information such as your cover photo cannot have information that goes in the About section such as your URL, telephone number, etc.
