Which Social Media sites do you need to join?
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, GooglePlus, Instagram – there are so MANY social media sites out there!
However, which site should your business be on? Where should you spend the most of your time and resources? If you hire a virtual assistant specializing in social media, where do you want them to focus?
The answer depends on the type of business you operate.
If you are a speaker – then you want to demonstrate your speaking skills. YouTube is where you belong first and foremost. You want potential clients to be able to see you demonstrating your speaking skills in your videos on your YouTube channel. You YouTube videos should also be embedded on your WordPress website so visitors can see you speaking directly on your website.
If you are a chef who prepares mouth watering recipes, Pinterest is where you need to be. You want graphic images that show the recipes you have cooked. Each Pinterest image should go directly from Pinterest to your blog where you discuss the recipe.
Are you a business coach? Facebook is where you belong. You want posts that give free business tips to readers demonstrating your expertise. After Facebook, YouTube is where you will have videos where you give free lessons that also demonstrate your skills.
Once you determine the first and second most important social media sites, your next two social media sites can also be established. These can be decided based on the type of business you manage and what will be the most useful to drive traffic to your website.
Below is my recommendation for which are the social media sites to join based on different types of businesses – they are in order of priority:
Coach
- YouTube
Speaker
- YouTube
Chef

Actor

Real Estate Agent
